A little history of the "Christmas movies on TV email list"

When I was younger, my uncle would call me every year to make sure I knew when Charlie Brown's Christmas would be on tv. When I got a little older, I would highlight the TV guide what movies would be on when and check with mom and dad to make sure we didn't have plans based on what Christmas movies were on TV that night (yes, I have always taken my Christmas movie viewing very seriously). As time passed and the internet became a critical part of our lives, websites were dedicated to listing when and what channel to watch your favorite Christmas movies.

I started the "Christmas movies on TV email" 16 years ago this November just sort of to be funny and for friends and family to know when and what was on TV. That year, I got calls and emails back from folks thanking me for the email and to keep it going the following year. Then the next year, I had a friend get upset when the email list did not go out before Thanksgiving. I quickly hopped online that night and continued the tradition every year since.

When the holidays are busy and I need to settle down in the evening, nothing works better than a Christmas movie (and maybe some wine/ hot chocolate on the side). I get that streaming services have replaced the TV Guide and the need for a website dedicated to Christmas movies but being the traditionalist I am, the email will continue!
